Living by faith- Testimonial

Hello to all the daughters of God in Christ Jesus who will come to read this. YES YOU, for we are all God’s children. The testimony which I am going to share is about the tremendous baby forth calling God that is Almighty God by the power of the Holy Spirit!!

A close friend of mine (who is also a sister in Christ), got married in 2012 since then had been trying for a baby but could not conceive. Whilst catching up with one another, she would mention how she really wanted a baby and her prayer request was that God would bless her with the fruit of the womb.

So we would stand with one another in prayer and ask God for what only He can do, after all He is in control over everything and has full authority over all things. Only He can call things into existence. So by faith we both were believing God for a baby.

Faith is a belief in God. Faith as Hebrews 11:1 puts it: “..is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see”. We were believing God for a baby that we could not see, but knew that God is able to do what seems impossible. The amazing thing is that God gives us His word for us to stay encouraged and to know who He is, and who we are, and whose child we are. When we know this, we know confidently we can go and ask anything. In addition to this, there are women in the bible who were barren and ended up conceiving and giving birth to child/children. Examples of these are Sarah, Rachel and Hannah.

It wasn’t until the winter 2014/early spring 2015 that God revealed through prayer and dreams that my Sister in Christ would become pregnant. The Lord was telling us that He heard our prayer and most importantly the yearning of my sister’s heart. We thanked God for what He was prophetically speaking into existence. We too found encouragement from God calling forth of Samson’s birth, John the Baptist and of course Jesus; all in the sense of when God promises a thing, every word He speaks has to come to pass, and it doesn’t take our effort but the Holy Spirit’s divine nature.

To God’s faithfulness and glory, in July 2015 our sister got a doctor’s appointment revealing that she was to date 7 weeks pregnant. 7 weeks pregnant! That had God’s signature all over it- completion. God also was out doing Himself as He too revealed before the time during prayer that the baby would be a boy. Fast forward, 27th February 2016 she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.

To all the women who are facing struggles in conceiving, do not give up hope. Your Heavenly Father is a trustworthy God, He hears our prayers and those of your heart, He knows our thoughts, He knows our ahhhhhh. But let me tell you this, seek His face and stay in faith believing Him to show up and speak to your womb to be fruitful and produce its fruit. Keep going back to the very word that He has given us for a reason. I can guarantee that if you will dwell on them and see God’s faithfulness through their journey and this testimony given, your hope in Him will rise, not hope in yourself but hope in the One where all hope comes from, and He who remains faithful.

Wow, aren’t you glad that the miracles that the Lord performed by His Spirit not only showed up in our yesterday’s but He continues to show up in our now days and too will remain in our later days.

I love how in the story of Jesus’ teaching on prayer, Jesus responds to one of His disciples (Luke 11) to pray just as John taught His disciples. Jesus afterwards responds by stating Lord’s prayer, a life point scenario full of wisdom and knowledge and metaphorically encourages us to ask, seek and knock:

Luke 11:9-10 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened”

Jesus encourages us to:

Ask Him in prayer–  It will be given to you.

Seek Him in prayer–  You will find Him talking to you.

Knock on the door– (that is us entering His presence) He will accept us.

He will give us the very thing we are asking for.

Lastly verse 13 states:

“If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

Our Heavenly Father wants us all to be filled with His Spirit, the Holy Spirit that raised Christ up from the dead, so that we can walk with Him and worship Jesus in Spirit and in truth, to know Jesus even more, to reveal to us the hidden things that can only be revealed by Him for revelation.

Ask Him and He will do it!

Stay in His Love, He is a good good Father.

  1. What a beautiful post on faith. A friend of mine asked God for a child for several years. There were no medical explanations for why she had not become pregnant. After feeling a tug of the Holy Spirit. she and her husband adopted two children. Then three years later, the birth mother became pregnant again, this time with twins! Of course, these were the siblings of their children, so they adopted the twins!
    God is a good Father!
