Dear Sister,
I have been a Christian for quite some time now. I always hear fellow Christians saying how Gold told them this or that but I just don’t understand how people hear Him or have direct conversations with God. I do pray and when I do I usually don’t get an answer. Yet other Christians are able to hear his voice. Please advice me on how I can hear Gods voice more clearly.
Dear Sister,
So I encourage you my systa united in Christ, not to focus on what others say but focus on Christ and believe on Him and what He says. When you take your eyes off God, you’re vulnerable and the enemy will distract you and you can begin to envy others. I have been a Christian all of my life; grew up in church and I didn’t come to KNOW God personally until I hit 40 years old- when my son died. So it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been a Christian. I know personally what it’s like to feel like God is not hearing or answering your prayers. But I discovered that “The Teacher is Always silent during the Test!” Please don’t confuse God with mankind. God is a spirit [the Holy Spirit to be exact], the very air that we breathe, so He works from the inside out – not the outside in. He examines our hearts. So when He talks to you it will be something heartfelt. Your heart will be convicted or feel broken, and be compelled to be like Christ: and those are all good things. And Know that you coming to your Sisters asking questions is actually a cry out to God. And guess what — my response to you, and others responses [I’m speaking it into existence – trusting God], is PROOF that God hears and answers your prayers. I was told once Hearing and Listening are two different things. Now I know that, Hearing just requires your ears. But Listening involves your ears, your eyes, your mind, your heart, and soul; and God can and will speak to all of these, and at the same time, and no one else knows but you. You can listen with your ears to His Word by hearing what God says. You can listen with your eyes by seeing God’s miraculous works and being observant. You can listen with your mind by being aware of the presence of God. You can listen with your heart by being ready to receive a word, because that’s how God talks to us. And you can listen with your soul because that is where the Spirit of the living God dwells.
I pray I helped you in some small way, but God gets all the glory. And may He continue to bless and keep you Dear Sister.

I used to ask “how can I hear God’s voice ” too. I heard people sharing their experiences of speaking to God and I didn’t understand it. I spoke to a mentor about it and the advice I received changed my walk with God. She told me to study His word. She explained that when God speaks to you, it’s a still voice, and often times God is talking to us and we cannot hear him. 2 of the reasons why we can’t hear him is 1- we don’t know God’s voice because we don’t know God’s Word. && 2-our ears are
Spiritually covered by the enemy/your flesh. That can be a result of living an unholy lifestyle, being surrounded by the wrong people, or ignoring convictions the Lord sends us to edify us thus pulling us further away from Him. After you do away with all these things, while also patiently, and earnestly spending time with God in fellowship, worship, prayer, && stillness (no speaking just Listening), God will eventually start downloading into you!
To the woman who is wondering about hearing God voice…I would advise to ask if she has REALLY turned her life over to Christ yet? I am only asking be a use there was a point in my walk that I thought the same thing, but it wasn’t until I FULLY SURRENDERED that I now understand HiM! Also “hearing” his voice comes in a multitude of ways: you can pray about something and get confirmation from someone else; you can walk into a store and see words or something that God shared with you, but you Weren’t sure, that’s confirmation; it could be in a dream…I guess I would say just really pay attention and pray for confirmation. God bless
Personally, whenever I have a need I often pray about it because the bible teaches us to do that and we are to pray without ceasing 1 Thessalonians 5:16.
When we communicate with heaven, we reach into the spiritual and we know that God is a spirit and the Holy Spirit of God can only be interacted with through prayers. After praying the Lord speaks into our heart,
He guides us in the way that we should go. We must also ask for the spirit of discernment to know what the spirit of God is saying. It is also important to give thanks and sure ending everything to God.
Another way to hear from God is by taking time to meditate on his word. For God is ‘the word’-In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. -John 1:1 . As believers we are tasked to meditate on the word day and night and do all it says so we can prosper
Joshua 1:8. Whatever situation we are passing through someone in the bible have gone through it and we can see those situations in the breathed word of God, which is what the bible is.
Therefore, I would say to my sister pray, meditate on the word, and ask the Holy Spirit for discernment, understanding and revelation and give thanks to God always. May God bless you and make your ways prosperous as you depend on him. Shalom.
Amen, good thoughts!

During the first few years of ministry, I preached or taught at least three times a week. My fellow pastors and evangelists were alway hearing God Speak to them. I prayed, fasted, and sought the advice of my peers, but to no avail. Then a very dear Christian told me, “God is His Word; if you want to know God and hear him speak, you must go to the Source–his Word. Rather, than study for sermons, etc., I began each day by going to the written Word, to hear the voice of the Eternal Word. What I read, I heard; hearing his voice changed my life, Sixty years later, we meet every morning, and he teaches me. I was thrilled to read you comment of Hearing God’s Voice, May He use your explanation to reach the millions that need to hear Him.

Can you hear God’s voice, or is it drowned out by the voice of an accuser?
Poem – Looking forward (Rocky)
Jesus never calls us out
For what we used to be.
His voice is so much greater
Than paul the Pharisee.
“You are Simon son of John”
said Jesus, without elaboration.
No mention of a cloudy past
No hint of condemnation.
No accusation against the brothers
No comments dark and obscure,
Writing to the Church in Corinth
“that is what some of you were.”
Not the voice of the accuser,
Boss Paul the Pharisee,
Telling the redeemed people of God
About what they used to be.
Jesus never said right is wrong,
He never said wrong is right.
He came so we can turn from darkness
And into His glorious light.
“Neither do I condemn you” said Jesus,
to a woman entrapped by dogs.
The game the dogs play is the same today,
Except now they do it on blogs.
“Go and sin no more” said Jesus,
Don’t relive that history.
Look forward, not back, don’t dwell on your past.
“You will be called” Rocky.
