Hello sisters from all over.
A few months ago, the pastor from my church asked for my phone number to check up on me etc. I didnt think anything of it because he is our pastor and I respect him. He started off with just normal chit chat or would send me a msg when I did not attend the service to see if i was ok. However of late, he has started sending me “goodmorning and goodnight” messages aswel as messaging saying how good i looked at church. He has also asked for us to meet up for lunch for bible study which I find odd. I dont know if i should tell anyone about these messages or what to do. Hes married ( also has a daughter my age) and dont want to ruin his reputation just incase hes just being friendly. Please advice me.
Be blessed!
If I were her, I would meet for the bible study just to see what he is really about. If he does make a move on her she can then decide if she wants to tell someone (which she should) these types of things happen more often than people realize. She should talk with someone that is well trusted. Probably another woman. If he made a move on her, and she is his daughters age than most likely he has done this before. Pray, pray, pray that he is exposed for who he really is. God sees everything.
Praying for her! So wishing I had some great advice! All I can say is that honesty may be the best option. Even though it may feel super uncomfortable maybe she could tell him that she appreciates him checking in her but that the volume of messages are making her a little uncomfortable and maybe she will let him know in the future if she needs his assistance. I hate to say it, but it does seem highly inappropriate to me and I don’t think I’d be able to go to church there anymore. 😞
Dear Woman of God,Listen to that calm, still voice inside of you. Run. Satan is the most cunning creature there is. He comes to steal, kill, and destroy. And his tools to do so are subtlety, distraction, and deception. You really don’t have to ask anyone’s advice because The Holy Spirit has already revealed the truth to you – you feel uncomfortable. Nothing about our Heavenly Father is uncomfortable or doubtful. And a True Man of God (especially a pastor) will not make you feel that way. I have a great relationship with my pastor AND first lady. I always go to Her. And when I have a legitimate spiritual problem, I speak to them as a couple – Never separately. I love you my Systa in Christ, so will tell you in love to tell him to STOP #1- or you will inform his wife. #2, block his number or change yours. And #3, run from that church and search for another church Home. You do NOT want to remain under that false teacher. There is NO reason to have a one-on-one bible study over lunch. [Giant red flag] If you stay, you will Always feel some kind of way towards him. And it Will hinder your spiritual growth. I pray I helped and that you listen to the words of wisdom from others.V.

ahhh…I’m so sorry this happening to you. and I am so glad you were uncomfortable and noticed how wrong this man’s behavior is, many women wouldn’t have . You do not need to change your number. YOU did nothing wrong.
What you CAN and SHOULD do is confront him with other leaders, so he can put a stop to the nonsense. He is a leader and he OBVIOUSLY doesn’t take his role seriously and thus, should not have that role. Think of all the girls and women who may not have had the wisdom like you did to know that this man was being inappropriate. I too think you should leave the church, its not a safe space and I’m sure anytime you go there u will feel angry. But you can’t leave without saying anything, you have a responsibility
